Here is the artist in his home studio. After a sunny, hot day painting on location, Francois puts finishing touches on his latest Birthday painting: 'The John Paul Jones House.' Francois' art has been compared to that of Maurice Utrillo, the French Impressionist,a humbling simile.

Francois enjoys painting cityscapes. He lives in Maine,surrounded by the seacoasts and the beauty of rural New England- an artist's paradise.
A lifelong camera bug, he brings a photographer's understanding of color, light and composition to his paintings.

He took an oil painting course in 1974 and in 2002 renewed an interest in painting- hey, we all have lapses like that!. He is self taught and uses hard and soft pastels on Wallis paper.

He loves to paint en plein aire and can often be seen on the streets of Portsmouth, NH in the summer.
recent exhibits include Conservation center of NH in concord and Breaking New Grounds in Portsmouth.

He lives with Cindel, his wife of over 30 years, in Wells, Maine.
